An area of ​​forest near Monte Francisco, municipality of Castro Marim, has been burning since around 15:00 this Thursday, reveals the Civil Protection on its website.

The fire has a front and is being fought by 22 operatives with five vehicles. For the time being, there is no air means operating on site.

This is the second fire to break out this afternoon in the municipality of Castro Marim, where, just before 14 pm, another fire had started in the Almada de Ouro area.

In the Algarve, there are currently two more active fires: the one in the Cachopo (Tavira) area, which has been burning since yesterday afternoon, and one in Alportel (São Brás), which is not mentioned on the Civil Protection website.
