Carmim-Prio-Tavira won, by teams, the Liberty Seguros Portugal Cup, an event that was won, individually and for the second consecutive year, by Sérgio Ribeiro (Efapel-Glassdrive), after being beaten only by José Gonçalves ( Onda-Boavista) in the last competition of the trophy, the Volta a Albergaria-a-Velha, played on Sunday. Rafael Silva (Liberty Seguros/Feira/Specialized) won the Cup in under-23.

The decisions were all saved for the 155,7 kilometers covered yesterday, starting and finishing in Albergaria-a-Velha, but the leaders of the elite Cup and under-23 remained attentive to the main opponents, holding the general classification.

José Gonçalves, who did not “count” for the Liberty Seguros Portugal Cup accounts, managed to stand out from all the competition and won the 12th Tour of Albergaria alone.

Sérgio Ribeiro defended the Cup leadership in the best way, being second, 14 seconds behind. At the same time, in third position, was Joni Brandão (Burgos BH-Castilla y León).

Among the under-23s, the best was Rafael Silva, with a performance that ensured him winning the Trophy.

In addition to the battle for the Portuguese Cup, this afternoon's race was worth it, as demonstrated by the triumph of neo-professional José Gonçalves, who was already promising high flights since the beginning of the season.

Running in his homeland, Edgar Pinto (LA-Atarte) was crowned best climber. Rui Sousa (Efapel-Glassdrive) won the jersey of flying goals.
