A Walk and Run March will take place on Sunday, in Lagos, as part of the activities organized in the European Mobility Week.
The march also has a solidarity aspect, as it appeals to the generosity of the participants so that they contribute, offering foodstuffs.
Thus, on the 25th of September (Sunday), a Solidarity Campaign will take place at Praça do Infante to collect foodstuffs that will revert in favor of the “Lagos Mais Solidário” Resource Bank.
The objective is that the citizens, namely the participants of the March but also others who are just watching, collaborate with this cause, offering foods of longer duration (eg rice, pasta, sugar, canned goods, cereals, preserves, porridge, olive oil, oil, etc.).
It is enough for each participant to deliver a product for this to make a difference in the lives of those who will receive it. This initiative has the support of the Local Volunteer Bank of Lagos do Espaço Jovem.
At Praça do Infante, there will also be a Cardiovascular Screening, by the Lagos Center of the Portuguese Red Cross, as soon as 9:00 am.
Half an hour later, at 9:30 am, it's time for entertainment, with “Danças do Mundo”, an activity integrated in the Traditional Dances discipline of the Senior University of Lagos, under the coordination of Professor Isabel Baptista.
It is from this location that, at 10:00 am, the Urban Walk and Run March will depart, to be held as part of the European Mobility Week, the World Heart Day and the Slow Cities movement.
Promoted by the Municipality of Lagos, this initiative offers two routes, of four and eight kilometers, lasting about two hours.
