The Farense coach said today that his team must show organization and tactical discipline to nullify Sporting's strengths in Sunday's game, in the 24th round of the I Football League.

«We will find a very motivated team, players with a very big objective – which is to be champion – and, therefore, we know that we will go through many difficulties. These difficulties have to be overcome with charisma, organization and great tactical discipline, to try to nullify the very strong points that this Sporting has", said José Mota, in a press conference ahead of the match scheduled for Alvalade.

Recalling that the Algarvians have had «positive performances» against the so-called 'big' teams, which included Sporting de Braga, the Farense coach highlighted that «there are games with completely different characteristics» and that Sporting, at home, won them all the 11 games already played for the championship.

«What we want is to be a rigorous, cohesive team, which can often play, can take over the game, can create imbalances in Sporting's defense, that is one of our objectives», he highlighted.

Asked about how Farense will be able to stop Swedish striker Gyökeres, José Mota joked that «the best strategy is for him not to be on a good day», before ensuring that the Algarve team should be worried about the other 'Leonine' figures.

«Of course, Gyökeres is an excellent striker, he is an incredible discovery for Sporting, but whoever is worried about a striker and drops all the other players, like Pote [Pedro Gonçalves], Trincão, or Edwards, he knows perfectly well that they have a lot of difficulty», he stressed.

Sporting, he noted, «is a team that plays very well, can play in different ways, sometimes it plays in continuous attack, sometimes it plays in transition”, in addition to the individual values “that stand out in a team that has a very strong collective”.

Regarding Farense's bad phase, which has not won in five games in the I Liga, José Mota recalled the quality of the opponents in this negative cycle, such as FC Porto, Sporting de Braga, Famalicão and Moreirense, all above the Algarve in the table.

«Not much has changed. The opponents changed. If you notice carefully, in the first round we had six points [in six games], in the second we have five. It's not that big of a difference», he maintained.

The game with Sporting «is the end of the games with these great opponents, so that we can then enter our championship games, where we have a better chance of scoring points and winning», said José Mota.

Sporting, second placed, with 56 points and a game behind, and Farense, eighth, with 26, face each other on Sunday, at 18:00 pm, at the José Alvalade Stadium, in Lisbon, refereed by Cláudio Pereira, from the association of Aveiro.
