A 64-year-old man died this Wednesday, February 21st, in an improvised home in a salt marsh area of the Ria Formosa, next to the access to Praia de Faro.
The alert was received at 9:33.
According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the man died “in his sleep”.
Death was declared by the VMER doctor and after contact with the Public Ministry, the body was transported by the Albufeira Volunteer Firefighters to the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Faro.
The Maritime Police Psychology Office has been activated and is providing support to the victim's relatives.
The local command of the Maritime Police of Faro took care of the occurrence.
