7MONTES was born, a new digital regional newspaper «to reach those who live most isolated»

This project integrated, like the Sul Informação, the tight selection of 25 selected across Europe to benefit from funding from Journalismfund Europe

With the aim of spreading news, stories and insights into the realities of Trás-os-Montes, as told and experienced by the inhabitants of the region, this Thursday, the 25th, the digital newspaper 7MONTES.

Under the direction of António Marujo, who is also director and founder of the newspaper 7 MARGINS, «the initiative aims to support the ability to generate a future in the territory through the involvement of its readers and local communities to reach those who live most isolated, through strengthening the knowledge, identity, solidarity and resilience of those who live in the region , using the simplified use of the most modern forms of communication».

O 7MONTES It has two local journalists, Filipe Ribeiro and Rúben Castanheiro, and an Editorial Board made up of inhabitants of Trás-os-Montes.

In addition to daily news and reports, 7MONTES publishes a newsletter every Thursday morning, with the main titles of the week and its own agenda.

Your subscription is free, and can be done on the website itself and forwarded to third parties.

The new daily newspaper is on social media Facebook and Instagram and also hopes to reach people from Trás-os-Montes who live outside the region, including those who live abroad.

The support received from Journalismfund Europe under the program Local Media for Democracy (LM4D), co-financed by the European Union (EU), “will allow the development of specific tools that promote inter-regional cohesion”, adds the new newspaper.
