Loulé will have this Saturday, January 6th, a giant 150 meter king cake, starting at 17pm, at Praça da República.
The delicacy will be made by the Loulé Doce pastry shop.
The cake will have the following ingredients: 110 kilos of flour, 100 kilos of candied fruit for decoration, 50 kilos of chopped candied fruit, 50 kilos of dried fruit (sultanas, almonds, figs and walnuts), 22 kilos of eggs (38 dozen) , 22 kilos of sugar, 14 kilos of margarine, 2 kilos of flavoring drinks, 1,6 kilos of salt and 1,6 kilos of yeast.
This initiative will feature a moment of musical entertainment by members of the group Charola das Barreiras Brancas – AGAL, who will bring a centuries-old musical tradition.
This initiative is free to enter.
This will also be the last day for a visit to Aldeia dos Sonhos, which will have its doors open at Cerca do Convento, Largo D. Afonso III and Largo de S. Francisco, until 19pm.
