Trapalhão Carnival returns to Albufeira

Carnival returns to Albufeira with guaranteed revelry in balls and parades, in a program that will take place from the 10th to the 13th of February.

On the 10th of February, downtown Albufeira will be the stage for the Trapalhão Carnival, an event that was reborn by the hands of several Albufeira residents who were responsible for an ancient tradition in the city.

The parade starts at 14:30 pm at Largo do Cais Herculano, followed by the party, at 15:30 pm, with Dj Zé Black and the dancers from Companhia Danzarena, on Rua 5 de Outubro.

To end the day, revelers will have the opportunity to take a few dance steps at the Carnival Ball at Espaço Multiusos de Albufeira (EMA).

This event, of great tradition in the city, is divided into three days, featuring the talent of several local musicians.

Thus, on Saturday (the 10th), at 20pm, Duo 00 and Nuno Balbino will take to the stage, on Monday (the 64th), the party will take place with Valter Cabrita and Nuno Balbino and finally, on Tuesday, On the 12th, Nuno Balbino is once again performing music in a matinee format, from 13pm to 14pm, on a day marked by the Masquerade Competition for young revelers, at 00pm.

Indaleta Cabrita, president of the Parish Council of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, points out Carnival as «a time much loved by the people of Albufeira, who year after year fill the Multipurpose Space for traditional carnival balls. As expected, this year we opened the doors of the EMA again so that the entire population can live this peculiar time with joy».

The mayor also remembers that «the city center will experience an afternoon full of revelry with the Trapalhão Carnival, an event entirely designed by Albufeirenses to set the city alight».

Supporting the dances that will take place at EMA will be food and drink taverns from various local associations.

The Albufeira Carnival program has free entry and is created by the Parish Council of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, with the support of the Albufeira City Council, the Albufeira Volunteer Firefighters, the Albufeira Skating Club, the Sports Club and Cultural Center of Albufeira, APEXA and Clube Desportivo Areias de S. João.
