PSP arrests cocaine, heroin, hashish, ecstasy and cannabis traffickers in Lagos

The suspect, who had already been convicted of drug trafficking, will appear before the judge today

The PSP arrested a 30-year-old man for drug trafficking in Lagos and seized 523 doses of cocaine, 816 doses of heroin, 27 doses of hashish, four ecstasy tablets, two doses of cannabis and around 4 thousand euros.

In a statement, the PSP clarifies that the arrest occurred following investigations where evidence of several drug transactions was collected, in various areas of the city of Lagos, "from a high number of hard drug users."

The seizures resulted from a home search and four non-home searches. In addition to the drugs and money, preparation and packaging material for direct sale to consumers was seized.

According to the PSP, the suspect had already been convicted of drug trafficking and will be brought before a criminal investigation judge today, December 13, so that coercive measures can be applied.

The PSP considers this operation relevant to «return the feeling of security to the citizens of the city of Lagos, given the social alarm caused by the criminal activity of the detained person».
