Government creates new career for Auxiliary Health Technician in the SNS

Transitioning to a TAS career results in a salary increase of around 100 euros per month

The Ministry of Health (MS) announced today the creation of the new career of Auxiliary Health Technician (TAS) in the National Health Service (SNS), which covers around 24 thousand workers who will have salary increases of around 13%.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health indicates that the negotiation process for the creation of the Auxiliary Health Technician career was concluded today, which covers all professionals who carry out functions in entities integrated into the National Health Service, regardless of their employment status, and that “represents an increase in value for the workers covered” and also “in gains for the SNS”.

According to the MS, the transition to the TAS career results in a salary increase of around 100 euros per month, corresponding to an increase of 13%, with the base salary for the career now being placed at level six of the single salary table, whose remuneration in 2024 will be 869,74 euros.

“With this measure, which covers around 24 thousand workers who work in the area of ​​health care provision, in addition to the gains for the system, the role of these workers in the functioning of health services and in the provision of care to the population”, says the MS, specifying that the diploma comes into force on January 01, 2024.
