69 people arrested in the last week in the Algarve

GNR publishes results of operations to combat violent crime and road inspection carried out between the 13th and 19th of November

Between the 13th and 19th of November, the GNR detained 69 people in the Algarve, as part of operations to combat violent crime and road inspection. 

Of these arrests, 24 stand out for driving without a legal license, 19 for driving under the influence of alcohol and four for drug trafficking. 

In the same period, 93 doses of hashish, 33 doses of cannabis and a knife were seized. 

In traffic, 525 violations were recorded: 199 for speeding, 48 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 46 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 22 for improper use of a cell phone while driving, 13 due to lack of or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems and seven due to lack of civil liability insurance.

Between 13 and 19 November, 144 accidents were recorded, resulting in one death, two serious injuries and 28 minor injuries.
