Proposed revision of the PDM of Faro enters into public discussion

30 working day period starts on October 23rd and ends on December 5th

The proposed revision of the Municipal Master Plan of Faro will enter into public discussion, following the publication of Notice nº 19847, in Diário da República, 2nd series, on October 16, 2023.

The PDM review process thus enters «its final stretch after completing a long and difficult phase of consultation with the entities that monitor and participate in its preparation», announced the Chamber of Faro.

The public discussion will take place over a period of 30 working days, starting on October 23rd and ending on December 5th, inclusive.

During this period, interested parties will be able to consult the Proposal for Revision of the Municipal Master Plan of Faro, the respective Environmental Report, the Final Opinion, the minutes of the Consultative Committee and the opinions issued in the consultation phase.

These documents will be available for consultation on the website at www.cm-faro.pt and also printouts on paper at the office of the Municipal Master Plan Review Team, Largo da Sé n.º 13, every working day from 10:00 am to 16:00 pm.

During this period, interested parties can submit suggestions, complaints or information in writing, using a specific form, available on the Municipality's website, addressed to the councilor for the Department of Infrastructure and Urbanism, Sophie Matias, to the address: Largo da Sé no. 13, 8004-001 Faro, or sent to email: [email protected].

With the beginning of public discussion, and until the entry into force of the new Municipal Master Plan for Faro, the precautionary measure of suspension of urban management procedures will be imposed, by law, (whether services were entered before or after the public discussion).

Prior information, prior communication and licensing procedures will be excluded from this suspension, when they concern building works and alterations to existing buildings, provided that such works do not give rise to or worsen non-compliance with current standards or that result in the improvement of the safety and health conditions of buildings (cf. article 145, no. 4 of the RJIGT), as well as the licensing or prior communication procedures whose requests have been accompanied by the request for prior information with a binding (article 17, no. 5 of the RJUE).

Licensing procedures for building works in progress, after approval of the architectural project, those relating to construction on lots resulting from the subdivision operation titled by a license in force, requests for authorization of use and also procedures whose licensing has already occurred, with only the issuance of a permit remaining.
