Lagoa celebrates equality with shows and a citizenship meeting

As part of the Municipal Day for Equality

Lagoa City Council will mark the Municipal Day for Equality, which is celebrated on October 24th, with initiatives that aim to “alert and raise awareness of equal rights and opportunities, non-discrimination and proactive citizen participation on the part of all people".

The celebrations began last week with the XII Journeys of O Companheiro, “Percursos em Liberdade: The Contribution of Artificial Intelligence”.

On the 24th, at 9:30 am, the show “Another Sleeping Beauty”, a «little-known children's narrative by Agustina Bessa-Luís», which was written in 1999 for the Companhia Nacional de Bailado, which «revisits the original and well-known short story by Charles Perrault in the light of modern times and the author's biting humor».

«In a plot in a dreamlike space and crossed by the senses of irony and otherness, “Another Sleeping Beauty” proposes the presentation of the text by Agustina Bessa-Luís staged by Beatriz Brás and interpreted by Catarina Rôlo Salgueiro, accompanied by the original music by Martim Sousa Tavares with animation projection and original illustrations by Francisco Lourenço», describes Câmara de Lagoa.

This show is aimed at children in the 3rd and 4th year of the municipality.

On the same day, at 14:30 pm, the Citizenship 4.0: Lagoa em Ação meeting will take place, during which the results of the My Polis project in schools 2022/2023 will be presented and participation games will be promoted, «in order to include all participants in the project» .

«To bring younger people closer to the values ​​of citizenship and promote their personal and social development; give young people the opportunity to present, debate and vote on concrete proposals for transforming their municipality; to better understand the opinion of the citizens of Lagoa, integrating it in the construction of public policies and bringing a participatory dimension to the teaching of the subject of Citizenship and Development», summarizes the municipality.

The program ends with the presentation of the interactive artistic sessions (clown) “Suzete faz Frete!”, which include debates and specific group dynamics, aimed at schools, addressing topics such as gender inequality, domestic violence, peer violence (bullying) and respect, affection, assertive communication, emotional intelligence.

The activities take place on the 25,26th, 27th and 9th of October in schools in the municipality and are aimed at XNUMXth year and secondary students.
