Aljezur fire is dominated

Fire was close to homes

the fire that broke out yesterday at around 16:32 pm in the parish of Bordeira, in the municipality of Aljezur, was considered dominated at 00:08 today, Monday.

At an initial stage, as the Sul Informação found out yesterday afternoon from the Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command (CREPC) of Faro, the flames still surrounded houses, but the operators on the ground managed to defend them all successfully.

From there, the fire began to spread in an area that was difficult to access, but with no houses in the path between the flames and the sea, towards which the fire was evolving.

Operators on the ground managed to control the flames in the early hours of the morning.

There are still 142 operational personnel on the ground, supported by 45 vehicles.
