GNR arrests seven men and three women for trafficking in five Algarve municipalities

Action had a total of 147 operational

Seven men and three women, linked to a drug trafficking network that operated in five Algarve municipalities, were arrested this Monday, October 2, announced the GNR. 

This investigation had been going on for around 10 months across the region. Trafficking took place in various locations in the municipalities of Albufeira, Loulé, Faro, Olhão and Portimão.

The GNR issued a total of 34 search warrants (15 home searches and 19 non-domestic searches, namely 14 in vehicles, one in a vessel, an establishment, two in warehouses and a garage).

In total, 500 doses of hashish, 334 of cocaine, four of marijuana, 3,23 grams of MDMA, 1,1 grams of CBD hashish concentrate, four hallucinogenic mushroom capsules, a pistol concealed in an MB card, a alarm and nine casings, an ammunition, a brass knuckle, a cleaver and a knife.

Added to this are 15 euros in cash, three scales, 385 cell phones and seven vehicles.

The detainees will be present today, at the Judicial Court of Loulé, for the application of coercive measures.

The action included military personnel from the Coastal Control Unit, Territorial Detachment of Faro and Loulé, Intervention Detachment of Faro, Intervention and Public Order Group and with the support of the Public Security Police, in a total of 147 operational personnel.
