The ordinance that will make it possible to launch, in the next few days, the tender for the work from Variante a Olhão to the EN125, was signed today by minister João Galamba, who hopes that there will be “machines on the ground in 2024”.
«I will sign the charges extension ordinance today, which enables the launch of the competition. Infraestruturas de Portugal launches the competition in the next few days and the award should take place within the year. The expectation is that there could already be work on the ground in 2024", declared the Minister of Infrastructures this Monday, the 23rd, on a visit he made to Olhão, to see on the spot the evolution of the electrification works on the Algarve Line.
The completion of the Variant is seen as a priority by the minister, «not least because it is a project financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan».
«Today is a great day for Olhão and the entire Algarve region. The Variante is a long-standing desire of our municipality, which will represent a giant leap in the mobility and quality of life of the people of Olhão and the Algarve», considered, for his part, António Pina.
The mayor also thanked “the commitment of the Minister and the Secretary of State in unblocking this situation”.
