Two new radars go into operation today in the Algarve

These two new radars join three others that already exist in the Algarve

Two new instantaneous speed radars came into operation this Friday, September 1st, in the Algarve. One is located on Estrada do Aeroporto and the other on Autoestrada do Sul (A2).

These new radars are part of a list of 37 that began operating across the country today, in a campaign promoted by the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR).

Some of them are medium speed, measuring two points, but none of these will be placed, for now, in the Algarve.

Regarding the radar on Estrada do Aeroporto (EN125-10), the speed limit is 70 kilometers per hour.

In the list of new radars, ANSR does not specify whether the radar will work in just one direction or both, but it is already known that it is installed at 1,4 kilometer.

The new device on the A2 is located at kilometer 233 and only works in the North-South direction, that is, for those arriving in the Algarve. As it is a motorway, the limit is 120 kilometers per hour.

These two new radars join three others that already exist in the Algarve, all on the EN125: at the entrance of Faro, at the entrance to Lagoa and close to Algarve Shopping (Guia).

All radars in the Algarve – those on EN125-10 and A2 are new
