Three Secretaries of State inaugurate the Sardine Festival in Portimão

There will be performances by Carlão (1st), Áurea (2nd), André Sardet (3rd), Virgul (4th), Cuca Roseta (5th) and Tony Carreira (6th)

The Secretaries of State for Local Administration and Spatial Planning and for Tourism, Commerce and Services, as well as the Secretary of State for Fisheries will inaugurate this Tuesday, August 1st, the Sardine Festival, in Portimão. 

Carlos Miguel (Local Administration and Spatial Planning), Nuno Fazenda (Tourism, Commerce and Services) and Teresa Coelho (Fisheries) are the Secretaries of State who will be present.

In the case of Nuno Fazenda, there is also the particularity of participating, beforehand, in the inauguration of André Gomes as the new president of the Tourism Region of the Algarve, in a session at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

The opening program of the Sardine Festival begins at 17 pm, with the historical recreation of the unloading of the sardines on the riverside area of ​​Portimão, next to Cais Gil Eanes.

This is followed, at 19 pm, by the official opening of the Sardine Festival.

A street is planned between the riverside bandstand and the Festival grounds, with performances by the Sociedade Filarmónica Portimonense Band and the Portimão Volunteer Fire Band, followed by a visit to the event.

Until the 6th of August, Portimão will be celebrating with another edition of the Sardine Festival, one of the biggest gastronomic events in the Algarve, which, last year, beat all the peaks of affluence, with 110 thousand entries.

On the main stage, the shows are scheduled for 22 pm, with performances by Carlão (00st), Áurea (1nd), André Sardet (2rd), Virgul (3th), Cuca Roseta (4th) and Tony Carreira (5th).

With free access, the doors open daily at 18 pm and close at midnight.
