The tradition of the 29th Bath is once again fulfilled in Lagos, on the 29th of August, both at Cais da Solaria, where the artist Toy will perform, and at Praia da Luz, where the music will spread across three stages.
And there will be no shortage of this in Lagos, on the 29th and the days leading up to it. On the 26th, the Lagos Summer Fest – Youth Festival begins, which will be joined by the parties of Bath 29 at Cais da Solaria and Jardim da Constitution and Praia da Luz
The Youth Festival, an event promoted by (A) Garra – Associação Jovem de Lagos with the support of the Municipality, takes place at Cais da Solaria and at Praia da Batata on the 26th and 27th of August.
The 26th will be dedicated to the “Fusion Lagos Sunset Color Party”, with performances by artists Miguel Azevedo, Dupla Mete Cá Sets, Dagô & Tuneado and DJ TobyONE. On the 27th of August, with the theme “Cidade à Noite”, the artists Pete tha Zouk, DJ Hericson and DJ Just will be the guests.
The 29th of August begins with the historic recreation of the Bath of the 29th, by the Centro de Estudos de Lagos along Avenida dos Descobrimentos and Praia da Batata.
During the morning, “the times when people would come from their rural villages with food and drink for the so famous bath” will be remembered, which was believed to be “purifying, worth 29 baths and ward off demons”, according to the Lagos Chamber.
At 18 pm, the celebration takes place between Cais da Solaria and Jardim da Constitution. In addition to music and dance animation, this edition will feature two traditional swimwear competitions. The first will be in the area of “Tradition and Community”. The rules of participation can be consulted here, where the registration form can also be found, which must be completed by August 29th.
There will also be a contest in the “Fashion and Innovation” section, dedicated to stylists and fashion designers, a novelty at the event, with registration until the 20th and whose rules for participation can be consulted here, the latter a novelty of the event, being dedicated to stylists and fashion designers.
Both contests involve cash prizes for the top three finishers.
Before the emblematic night bath, there will be a concert by Toy, at Cais da Solaria.
Bath 29 will also be celebrated in Praia da Luz at an event organized by the Clube Recreativo, Cultural e Desportivo Luzense with the support of the municipality. In this place, there will be music for various tastes, with three stages operating on the same night.
