The ARTIS XXI association hosted in Lagoa, between the 23rd and 29th of July, around 80 young musicians from all over the country for the 3rd Edition of the Wind and Percussion Orchestra Internship, which brought together 1000 people in this city.
The young people were hosted at the Lagoa Conservatory of Arts, at the EB 1 de Lagoa School, at the EB 2/3 Jacinto Correia and at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium.
This edition featured 11 different instruments and 11 teachers who worked throughout the week with young musicians, under the direction of guest conductor Samuel Pascoal.
The end of the internship was marked with the Closing Concert, on Carvoeiro beach, where, on the 29th of July, at 21 pm, the young musicians gave a demonstration of the work developed throughout the week.
About 90 people on stage, led by conductor and composer Samuel Pascoal, in a concert with an original and varied repertoire, the participating students and teachers, for about 1h30, conquered more than 1000 people.
Artis XXI makes a very positive assessment of this 3rd edition and says that «it intends to maintain its commitment to the training and cultural exchange of young musicians in the municipality of Lagoa, and a new edition of the Wind and Percussion Orchestra Internship can be expected in 2024 ».
The event was produced by Artis XXI – Associação de Educação Artística de Lagoa, in partnership with the Municipality of Lagoa and with the support of DGartes and Grupo ESPAMOL.
