The 8th edition of the Almond Blossom Ethnographic Meeting, which took place on the 29th of July in Altura, focused on the themes “Mães de Leite” and brought together dozens of people.
The theme, which is different every year, was a tribute to women who helped breastfeed babies other than their own.
On stage were the Folklore Ranch Ribeira da Celavisa (Arganil, Coimbra), the Folklore Ranch of Casa do Povo de Arouca (Viseu), the Ethnographic Folkloric Group Modas da Nossa Terra (Terceira Island, Azores) and the host, the Ethnographic Group Amendoeiras in flower.
The VIII Ethnographic Meeting Almond Trees in Flower was part of the Altura Summer Animation program, whose next initiative will take place tomorrow, at the Leisure Zone of Av. June 24th, as usual, with Filipe Rodrigues and Cookie Monsters Band.
The 8th edition of the Ethnographic Meeting Amendoeiras em Flor was organized by the Cultural Association Amendoeiras em Flor and supported by the Municipality of Castro Marim and Parish Councils of the municipality, INATEL Foundation, Federation of Portuguese Folklore, Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and local commerce.
