Minister Elvira Fortunato visits works in three university residences at the University of Algarve

UAlg residences represent a total PRR funding of more than 2 million euros

The Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education will travel this Monday, July 31st, to the University of the Algarve, (UAlg) from 14:30 pm, to visit three student residences, Ferragial 16, Ferragial 17 and Lot E, whose works are in progress.

Inserted in the National Plan for Accommodation in Higher Education (PNAES), developed within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), the UAlg residences represent a total PRR financing of more than 2 million euros.

With this visit, Minister Elvira Fortunato intends to accompany the development of renovation works taking place in each of the residences, whose completion date is scheduled for September this year.

The work includes intervention on 237 beds in all three residences.

The governmental area of ​​science, technology and higher education is creating conditions for young people and their families to continue to invest in a higher qualification, in a joint effort by the Government with higher education institutions and other entities, to ensure the right to housing to those who are going to study away from their place of residence and away from their families.
