Unemployment falls 2,8% in June in a row and 1,7% year-on-year

IEFP released the data today

Unemployment registered in June decreased by 2,8% compared to the previous month and fell by 1,7% compared to the same month of last year, reaching the lowest value ever in that month, according to IEFP data released today.

"Unemployment registered in June fell again, being the lowest ever (277.742 people), in the months of June, with a reduction of -2,8% (-8.113 people) compared to the previous month and -1,7% below the level observed in June 2022 (-4.711 people)", says a statement from the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, which cites data from the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP).

As for long-term unemployment, the downward trend continued, with a chain decrease of -1,9% (-2.139 people), standing -18,8% below the level registered in June 2022 (-25.842 people).
