A world champion and four national champions will be present in another edition of the Triathlon Cross Cidade de Tavira, which will take place on Saturday, the 17th, in this city, from 15 pm.
The race, which will have its core on the Gilão bridge, where the transition park will be installed, has the Spanish Manuel Garcia, world champion of Duathlon Cross, with three national champions of Triathlon Cross – Rui Dolores, Carlos Cabrita and Alex Cabrita – and with Nuno Neves, national road triathlon champion.
The list also includes «the best triathletes in the Algarve in terms of Triathlon Cross».
All of them are challenged to complete, in the shortest possible time, a test that includes 750 meters of swimming, followed by 20 kilometers of mountain bike and 5 kilometers of running.
«The two-lap bicycle and three-lap racing circuits will circulate across the Gilão bridge, providing great visibility to spectators», according to the Clube de Vela de Tavira, which organizes the event.
The City of Tavira Cross Triathlon has the support of the Municipality of Tavira, the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, the Union of the Parishes of Tavira, Tavira Verde, the GNR, the PSP, the Captaincy of the Port of Tavira and various entities private.
