ARS hires 14 new general and family medicine doctors

According to the ARS, the hiring of these 14 new doctors «will make it possible to expand the assistance coverage of users with a family doctor in the region»

The Algarve Regional Health Administration (ARS) has hired 14 new General and Family Medicine doctors to reinforce the teams at the health centres. 

The new doctors will join the teams at the Personalized Health Care Units in Albufeira, Faro, Lagoa, Loulé, Monchique, that there is a great shortage of doctors, Quarteira, Olhão, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira.

According to the ARS, the hiring of these 14 new doctors «will make it possible to expand the assistance coverage of users with a family doctor in the region».

At the reception sessions for the new doctors, which took place on the 1st and 15th of June, Paulo Morgado, president of ARS Algarve, welcomed the new doctors, congratulated them on their interest in integrating healthcare in the region and stressed the importance of their settling in the localities where they will carry out functions.
