School of Hospitality and Tourism will be open to everyone this week

EHTA Open Week has a varied program

The Algarve School of Hospitality and Tourism (EHTA) is open from today, March 6, until Friday, the 10th, to showcase «the vibrant universe of training in Hospitality and Tourism», at the Open Week of this educational establishment.

Over five days, many other areas will be made known, more precisely Cuisine, Pastry, Accommodation and Tourism, Restaurant and Bar, one per day.

«Get to know the school's facilities, participate in activities, discover the courses that exist, attend demonstrations and workshops, listen to remarkable experiences of those who chose this industry to make a career» are some of the suggestions of the program that will be «offered to hundreds of students and teachers who usually visit the school in this initiative», according to the EHTA

The program includes «a cycle of lectures with renowned speakers, among them the prestigious Chef Leonel Pereira, a cooking workshop on the Mediterranean Diet and several Practical Restaurant Demonstrations».

«Special emphasis on the Cocktail Challenge, a Bar Competition that has been held at the school since 2018 and that this year takes place within the scope of Open Week. In this competition, students are challenged to prepare a 'Cocktail Pairing', which includes the creation of a signature cocktail and a canapé, in a union that is intended to be harmonious», according to the hotel school.

«This is the perfect opportunity to make known, in more depth, each area of our Training Offer for the next academic year. During Open Week we want the public to have a very real experience of what constitutes the school's training strategy: Knowing How to Do, Explore and Practice. In this way, we believe that it is possible to awaken the interest of young people in the Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism professions», says Paula Vicente, director of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of the Algarve.

In the next academic year, EHTA will reinforce its training offer with 2 new courses, one for students who have completed the 9th year and another for students who have already completed the 12th year of schooling, taught in English.

Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year are now open to international students, under a special regime, and run until March 31st.

For national students, the application phase will open on the 1st of April. All applications are made through the website of Turismo de Portugal schools.

Open Week 2023 takes place simultaneously, from north to south of the country, in the 12 schools that are part of the Turismo de Portugal network. Every year this school network trains more than 3000 students, «contributing to the high qualification of human resources in the tourism industry».
