Castores do Arade win Regional Long Distance Championship in Alcoutim

Grupo Desportivo de Alcoutim and Clube Fluvial Odemirense ranked 2nd and 3rd

The Kayak Clube Castores do Arade, from Lagoa, won this Sunday, March 12, the Regional Canoe Long Distance Championship, which was held in the waters of the Guadiana river, in Alcoutim.

KCCA won the collective classification with 2515 points, followed by Grupo Desportivo de Alcoutim, with 1413 points, and Clube Fluvial Odemirense, with 1288 points.

KCCA won 30 medals, of which 13 were gold for regional champions, 8 silver for regional runners-up, and 9 bronze, corresponding to as many third places.

The Regional Fund Championship had the participation of nine clubs and 190 athletes. KCCA participated with 53 athletes, being the club with the most representation.
The Regional Long Distance Championship serves as a preparation for the biggest event on the Portuguese calendar, the National Long Distance Championship, which will take place in Mirandela, on the 25th and 26th of March.

The KCCA adds that, in addition to all its athletes who climbed the podium, they also participated in the race - Maria Catarina Lopes, Sara Pinto, Margarida Reis, Lara Caracol, Sara Moleiro, Evilina Vereha, Beatriz Ferreira, David Ferreira, Nadine Santos, Francisco Pina, Sérgio Carapinha, Nuno Silva, Orlando Silva, Gilberto Lopes, Rodrigo Gabriel, Tomás Vasconcelos, Ruben Luís, Pedro Marques, David Costa, Íris Rietkerk, Joshua Guerreiro, Gustavo Francisco and Gabriel Louzeiro.
