The Balcão Único of the Municipality of Olhão handled 16 calls throughout 033, an increase of around 2022% compared to the previous year.

Of the calls, 7 were related to works, «of which 746 requests for the issuance of work permits, 202 requests for use licenses, 292 requests for certificates of exemption from use licenses and 348 requests for administrative licensing stand out», according to the Olhão Town Hall.

With regard to services associated with the Citizen Space, 2022 were registered in 2, of which 179 renewals of citizen cards, 283 revalidations of driving licenses and 557 requests for change and confirmation of address on the citizen card .

Other matters that led many citizens to turn to Balcão Único were related to social action, animals, cemeteries, local accommodation and economic activities in general.

The Balcão Único of the Municipality of Olhão opened its doors on February 6, 2012, as part of the administrative modernization measures of the municipality, with the aim of simplifying the lives of citizens.

In the same space, at the main entrance of the Paços do Concelho building, a large part of the service related to Social Action, Environment and Public Health, Economic Activities, Tax Offenses and Foreclosures, Culture and Tourism, Sports and Youth, Rights and Citizenship, Education, Public Spaces and Advertising, Spatial Planning, Urban Rehabilitation, Transport, Mobility and Traffic and Urban Planning.

In the first year of operation, it also became possible to request the issuance of a pass for public transport in the city, as well as help in filling out many of the forms available online, so that the processes are instructed according to the necessary data. and more quickly and efficiently.

Since July 2019, it has also made available the services of the first Citizen Space to come into operation in the municipality, providing citizens with mediated assistance from a wide range of Central Administration services, such as renewing their driving license or identity card. citizen, request a new password or a property booklet from the Tax Authority, submit expenses to the ADSE, deal with matters relating to employment and professional training, request the European Health Insurance Card or carry out e-invoice services.
