Registration is open

The Manuel Violante Foundation will provide training in the area of management to those responsible for organizations of the Algarve with a social mission, with a «focus on sustainability and impact», under the Miles programme, whose enrollment is open in the Algarve region.

This is a «programme for the transformation of the social economy of the Manuel Violante Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides support to national organizations that wish to improve their management practices», describe the promoters of the initiative.

The program has 50 to 60 volunteers and, «over the course of a year, each participant will define their objectives and during the course of the training they will be individually monitored by a trainer who is part of the Manuel Violante Foundation, who will provide all the support so that the course has applicability in practice and that the ultimate goal of training leaders and managers of organizations is achieved».

«Training takes place in two different stages and in which two levels of knowledge are acquired. From January to May, the program is dedicated to preparing organizations so that their sustainability is guaranteed and from September to December, in a second phase, the focus is on impact and innovation», describes the Manuel Violante Foundation.

«Themes such as Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Governance or Digital Transition are developed. In both stages, the objective is common: changing the mindset of these organizations so that they are more agile and efficient in their internal management and the resources they have at their disposal», he adds.

According to Patrícia Rocha, executive director of the Manuel Violante Foundation, «the plan is that in the next three years we will be supporting 500 social organizations. Reinforce the management of participating organizations and make them grow and gain a voice in their cause. Ensuring that its business models are sustainable and that the leadership teams are motivated and work in harmony so that the organization's mission and service is provided and, increasingly, able to respond to the needs of an evolving society».

Raúl Galamba de Oliveira, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Manuel Violante Foundation, underlines, for his part, the Miles program «allows these organizations – which care for society, children, young people, the elderly, people with disabilities or in homeless, vulnerable families, those who need support – play their role even better and therefore take even better care of their communities. This program enables the teams of these organizations and each of their people to grow professionally and personally, feel more capable, gain confidence and thereby reinforce their impact on the organization and on the 3rd sector».

Registration for the program costs 300 euros and can be done here.

Organizations such as APAV, Terra dos Sonhos and Fundação O Século have participated in previous editions.
