Loulé marks World Book Day, which is celebrated on 23 April, with the award ceremony for the 16th Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Literary Contest. The contest, which was born from the joint organization of the Municipal Libraries of Loulé and Lagos, takes place at Cineteatro Louletano, at 11 am.
With the main objective of encouraging the reading of works by one of the great references of Portuguese Literature of the 16th century, the contest is aimed at students from public and private schools in the 2 Algarve municipalities, from the 3nd and XNUMXrd cycles and secondary education. , and is divided into Text and Illustration categories.
After the evaluation of the jury - which included the representatives of the Loulé Chamber, Rita Moreira, Lagos Chamber, Sara Coelho, Algarve Regional Directorate of Education, Lídia Ramos, General Directorate of Books, Archives and Libraries, Maria João Martins, and also the guest author of this edition, Afonso Dias – the winners of the 16th Contest who will receive the prize on the 23rd of April were selected.
