“Rio as a Space for Learning and Participatory Education” debated at the Professional School of Alte

The seminar “Rio as a Space for Learning and Participatory Education” will take place this Tuesday, March 8, between 14:20 pm and 17:30 pm, in the Auditorium of the Cândido Guerreiro Professional School, in Alte (EPCG), and online through the ZOOM platform.

Participation in the seminar is free and open to the entire community, both in person and online through the ZOOM platform, but requires prior registration, which must be done by clicking here.

The seminar, promoted under the Erasmus+ Project KA2 – L&T's River – The River as a Learning & Teaching Space, aims to «disseminate and disseminate the pedagogical practices developed within the scope of the project, which may constitute a contribution to the pursuit of Goal 13 of Sustainable Development (OBS13 – Climate Action – Climate Change)», explains that Vocational School.

In the first panel, which includes the participation of Vítor Aleixo, mayor of Loulé, Pedro Coelho, regional director of the Portuguese Environment Agency – Algarve Hydrographic Administration, and Manuela Moreira da Silva, professor at the University of Algarve, will reflect «on the importance of raising awareness and participation of all in the implementation of mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction measures with regard to climate change and in urgently finding solutions to the scarcity of water, which already affects, in a so dramatically, the region, the country and the world.

In the second panel, whose theme is “The Importance of Education as a Transformation Factor”, Tânia Teixeira, director of EPCG, will present the project “Water Efficiency at EPALTE”, and Anabela Cordeiro, professor at EPCG, will make a presentation on the topic “Eco-Efficiency in Schools” and will present the Project L&T's River – The River as a Learning & Teaching Space, of which she is coordinator at EPCG.

The Project L&T's River is promoted by a partnership formed by the Professional School of Alte, the Low Carbon Foundation and IES Botanic Cavanilles Secondary School in La Vall´Uixó – Valencia/Spain, Economy & Ecology (Eco&Eco) and Maria Montessori Secondary School – Leonardo Da Vinci in Bologna/Italy.
