Music from Portugal and Spain comes together in a Promenade Concert in Lagoa

on April 3th

The Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa, will host another session of the Promenade Concerts cycle, starring the Orquestra Clássica do Sul, on April 3, at 16:30 pm, with the performance of the second concert entitled “Olá e olé”.

The second Promenade Concert of this season «is exclusively dedicated to the musical expression of Portugal and Spain», according to the Lagoa Chamber.

The show's program «gathers compositions that illustrate the various folkloric expressions of the two countries and recreate in a pictorial way the universe of popular festivals in the Iberian Peninsula».

«From Portugal we have the tranquility of the Alentejo plain, the countryside of the Ribatejo lezíria and songs from our childhood, written by the English composer Gilbert Vinter. From Spain we have the warm nights of XNUMXth century Seville and the Festa Brava, by Carmen and Escamillo, El Matador, with the magnificent music of French composer George Bizet», describes the municipality.

The Promenade Concerts feature guest conductor Élio Leal and the baritone Rui Baeta and are «a true music festival for the whole family».

Tickets cost 6 euros (free entry up to 16 years old) and can be purchased online, at Fnac, Worten, Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, Convento de S. José Cultural Center and Lagoa City Council Single Desk.

The next concert is scheduled for May 15th and will be entitled “Strauss, from Vienna to the World”.
