“Os Musqueteiros” group gives 14.500 euros to the Algarvian Association

This association supports 177 young people with disabilities or at risk every day

The “Os Mosqueteiros” Group donated 14.500 euros to the Algarve Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Disabled Children (AAPACDM), as part of a solidarity campaign that took place from December 15th to January 6th.

According to this group, «the Portuguese had the opportunity to share “Happy Vows”, by voting for one of the associations eligible for the initiative. Each vote corresponded to 2 euros that the Musketeers Group donated to the chosen institution».

With this support, AAPACDM will be able to renew the furniture (tables and chairs) of the cafeteria in Faro, as well as renovating the furniture and equipment and painting the kitchen space at the Santa Bárbara de Nexe facility, where the Occupational Activities Center is located.

This association supports 177 young people with disabilities or at risk, resident throughout the Algarve, every day, developing skills that allow them to be self-sufficient in certain tasks.

The institutions selected within the scope of this campaign work in different social fields and are distributed from north to south of Portugal, namely: the Association of Family Homes for Children and Youth – Novo Futuro – Porto (Vila Nova de Gaia), the Algarve Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Impaired Children (Faro), the Association for the Development of Local Communities (Guimarães), the Donated Goods Bank (Lisbon), the Special Education Center of Rio Maior “O Ninho” (Santarém), the Padre Bastos Social Center (Peniche), the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição da Costa de Caparica (Almada), and Porta Mágica – Social Solidarity Association (Évora).
