Faro maintains value of fees and taxes in 2022

The Municipal Assembly of Faro approved the fiscal package for the year 2022, on the 23rd of November, maintaining the value of fees and taxes applied in 2021, after successive tax cuts over the past few years.

The Faro local authority had already approved the proposal at a Chamber meeting, on 15 November.

This is the case of the Municipal Property Tax (IMI), which, after four reductions over the past eight years, will remain at a value of 0,35% for urban buildings (it was 0,38% in 2020) and at the same value of 0,8% for rustic buildings.

The municipality of Faro it will also maintain, compared to 2021, «significant support for families with dependent children, with families with one child paying 20 euros less in IMI, while families with two children will pay 40 euros less and those with three or more children will pay 70 euros less of this tax», explains the municipality.

As has already happened in 2021, the municipality will apply again in 2022 a reduced rate of surcharge of 0,01% for companies with a turnover in the previous year that does not exceed 150 thousand euros, «a measure that is estimated which represents an injection of around half a million euros to support the treasury of small and medium-sized companies in the county».

For companies that obtain a turnover above 150 thousand euros, "the normal tax rate of 2022% on taxable income subject to and not exempt from IRC generated in the municipality is maintained in 1,5", stresses the municipality. .

The remaining fees and taxes "also keep last year's values".

The variable participation rate in the formation of the IRS received in the municipality remains at 5%, while the rate of rights of way for goods in the municipal public and private domain – by companies that offer publicly accessible communications networks and services. infrastructure for hosting these communications – is set again at 0,25%.
