The Chamber of Faro today, Friday, December 24th, it distributed 400 king's cakes to the security, emergency and civil protection forces.

The "symbolic gesture" aimed to "show the recognition of the autarchy to these professionals who, in different areas, have been so supportive to the population during these long months lived under the effect of the pandemic."

«In all, 400 kilos of this traditional Christmas delicacy will be delivered to the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA), either to health professionals or to users; to the Firefighters of Faro and Volunteer Firefighters of Faro the Cruz Lusa Humanitarian Association; to INEM; to the GNR; to the PSP (nuclei of Faro and Special Police Unit); to the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF), namely to the personnel who are working at the Airport on this date, and to the Fire Department of the Airport of Faro», according to the Chamber of Faro.

"In this way, the Municipality of Faro gives these professionals a symbolic sign of gratitude from the community for their work in favor of the common good and hopes to collaborate in the effort to give some more human warmth to all those who this year, by the nature of their professions, are deprived of the possibility of moving on to Christmas night, as is traditional, with the respective families», concludes the municipality.
