Castro Marim pays homage to Paco de Lucía again at the Revelim de Santo António

For two days, the municipality of Castro Marim promotes the “Lucía – Festival de Guitarras”

Castro Marim will once again pay homage to the «master of flamenco» Paco de Lucía this Friday and Saturday, 8th and 9th October, at Revelim de Santo António as part of the “Lucía – Festival de Guitarras”.

Paco de Lucía, an unavoidable figure in the history of flamenco music, had his roots in Castro Marim, more specifically in Monte Francisco, the land where his mother (Lucia Gomes) was born.

For two days, the municipality of Castro Marim promotes the “Lucía – Festival de Guitarras”, whose genesis goes back to the Festival de Lucía. The event uses the vision of artist Paco de Lucía, in a crossroads of cultures and genres with the guitar, promoting art and territory.

On October 8th, at 21 pm, guitarists André Ramos and Luís Fialho will perform, followed by the Portuguese group Sangre Ibérico, which combines rhythmic dynamics between fado, flamenco and Latin rhythms.

On the 9th of October, at 21 pm, the poster crosses the border with the artist Niño Josele and Quarteto, a professional guitarist, who developed this art with the great masters of flamenco, including tours with Paco de Lucía.

“Lucía – Festival de Guitarras” intends to be “a music festival that remembers and pays homage to the genius of the flamenco guitar, as it has been happening since 2016, without losing its essence, making known sounds and artists inspired by Paco de Lucía”, says the municipality of Castro Marim.

Entrance to the premises is free, complying with the norms of the General Directorate of Health appropriate to the space.

“Lucía – Festival de Guitarras” takes place under the Interreg Program VA Spain – Portugal 2014-2020, with a 75% contribution from the ERDF.
