The Superbike World Championship started yesterday, the 1st, and will run until tomorrow, Sunday, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) and, in addition to a race in the main international championship of this sport, it will also feature races in the Supersport categories. , Supersport 300 and Superstock 1000.

Yesterday, the more than 4 dozen participants in the WorldSSP300 category started another edition of the Superbike World Championship, on the Algarve circuit.

And the results of the first practice “were surprising, with Booth-Amos (Rt Motorsports by SKM Kawasaki) setting the fastest time, followed by Adrian Huertas (MTM Kawasaki), the title favorite, who is first in the competition, with a lead of thirty-six points,” according to the AIA.

In the second practice of the day, but the first in the WorldSBK main category, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team), stood out. Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha with Brixx), holder of first place with a difference of twenty points from Rea, was fourth in this first training session.

To end the opening rounds, which took place during the morning, «in the WorldSSP category, the pilot Manuel Gonzalez (Team Yamaha ParkinGO) stood out, whose result set a new record (1'44.188)».

«In the afternoon, the laps were intense and tight, a little, for all categories. As for the second round of WorldSSP300, it can be said that there was a turnaround: Amos remained in first place, Huertas moved to fourth with a few thousandths of a second difference from the first round and, unpredictably, Samuel Di Sora (Team Yamaha Flemmbo), who in the first round was in twelfth place, moved up to second».

Regarding the WorldSBK category, «in the second lap, Rea continued to take the first position and also managed to improve his time by a few thousandths of seconds, unlike Razgatlioglu, who despite remaining in fourth place, slightly worsened his times».

“To close the day, at WorldSSP the focus is on J.Cluzel (GMT94 Yamaha), who in this round climbed to first place with a time slightly higher than in the first. Manuel Gonzalez did not keep the record, placing fourth in this round», according to the circuit.

Today, Saturday, the bikes are back on track and “some surprises” are expected.
