Docapesca promotes coastal cleaning in Sagres, Sines and four other fishing ports in the country

The fishing ports of Sagres and Sines, as well as those of Póvoa de Varzim, Viana do Castelo, Figueira da Foz and Cascais, will be the target of coastal cleaning actions, promoted by Docapesca, between the 18th and 25th of September.

These initiatives are part of the celebrations of the International Coastal Cleansing Day, through the project “Fishing for a Sea Without Garbage”.

All users of fishing ports can participate, as well as the general population.

In addition to removing waste, the action aims to raise awareness of the problem of waste in the marine environment and involve the community in the project.

Enrollment is done through a form available on Docapesca's social networks and is limited to 30 volunteers per action, due to the pandemic situation.

The actions take place on the following dates:

September 18, from 09 am to 12 pm – Póvoa de Varzim
September 18, from 09 am to 12 pm – Sines
September 18, from 09 am to 12 pm – Viana do Castelo
September 22, from 09:30 am to 12:XNUMX pm – Sagres
September 25, from 09 am to 12 pm – Figueira da Foz
September 25, from 10 am to 12:30 pm – Cascais
