“From Convento to Table” is the campaign that intends to place the Florados de Lagoa in the county's pastries and restaurants, and which will be launched this Thursday, August 12th, in the Cloisters of the Convento de S. José, making known to the public, in general, a typical sweet from Lagos.
After the municipality has recovered the original recipe, through documented knowledge and techniques, it will now launch a campaign to reactivate the “Florados de Lagoa” brand.
In this session, a cooperation protocol will be signed between the municipality of Lagoa and the various entities that adhere to the project to promote the convent sweet.
After the signing of the protocol, a promotion dynamic will be implemented in the coming weeks «that will take the Florados de Lagoa to the patisseries that will make this convent sweet with all the care and rigor, respecting what is the technique and secrets of generations» , explains the municipality in a note sent to the newsrooms.
This project comes through the municipality with the objective «to recover this gastronomic heritage of our county and the Algarve, through documented historical knowledge, the art of know-how and collective memory».
In this first phase, there are 10 partners, from different branches, ranging from the hotel sector, to the catering sector, passing through the patisseries with their own manufacture.
“I'm suspicious because I'm a fan of Florados de Lagoa, but I believe that all Lagoans should taste our convent sweet. I'm sure you'll like it, that it's a candy that's here to stay and that it's another reason to be proud and a way to preserve the best we have around here», considers Luís Encarnação, president of the Lagoa City Council.
The pastries that will make this convent sweet in the coming weeks of August, from 9:15 am to 11:15 am and from 17:00 pm to 18:00 pm, are:
16th (Monday) – Pastelaria Helidoce (Lagoa).
Day 18 (Wednesday) – Pastelaria Fabrica Velha (Carvoeiro).
20th (Friday) – Quente Quentinho Pastry Shop (Ferragudo).
Day 24 (Tuesday) – Crunchy Pastry (Parchal).
Day 26 (Thursday) – Pastelaria Algarve (Lagoa).
