An exhibition and a «luxury poster» will start the «cultural distrust» from Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Músicos today, April 19, at the association's headquarters, the former Fábrica da Cerveja, in Vila-Adentro de Faro.
This Monday begins with the inauguration of the exhibition “ARCM – A brief history” and “closes in dancing tones by the hands of the Brazilian DJ Anna Nagem”.
These are the first events of the “Siga” project, which ARCM will host until the end of 2021 and which will feature artists and bands such as José Cid, with the Cid Jazz Project, Tio Jel, PAUS and many others.
This is just mentioning the concerts, which are just a part of the program. This initiative also has an exhibition, DJ performances, events, stand up comedy and Techno parties.
«This is a self-financed project that aims to empower all types of performing arts, whether by helping artists in their shows, in the recording of his shows and in his videoclips. We know there is talent and we want to help make it stand out in the best possible way, with the best quality of light, sound and everything that surrounds them. Sometimes it's just what you need to make the “leap”! In terms of programming, we already have more than 50 artists marked from the most varied styles. We bet on more big names like José Cid, PAUS or Tio Jel, but also on the quality of the house's silver, like Teresa Aleixo or YUCA», revealed Jorge Santos, programmer of “Siga”.
«Cheer up! I think that is the watchword from now on. We are still in “resilience mode” and with a lot of constraints, but above all we need hope and believe that we are going to get out of this situation, hence we have decided to reveal in advance everything we have planned so far. The audience deserves some encouragement and so do we! And if there is one sector that manages to lift spirits, it is culture,” he added.
Although many of the events have not yet been announced, it will be possible to follow the news on the Facebook and Instagram of the association, where this week's schedule is already available.
This massive event takes place in the year that ARCM is celebrating its 31st anniversary. The birthday, itself, is the 5th of June, but there are other larger events, and already with tradition, in the pipeline, such as the Kriativa Fair and the Faro Alternative.
«Accompanying all this artistic panoply we also have two renovated theaters, a production team consisting of sound technicians, lighting technicians and even stagehands. All these assets now join our rehearsal rooms, recording studios, and an outdoor patio. It can be said, in a way, that after these 30 years we have finally reached “cultural maturity”!» said João Melro, president of the Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Músicos.
