Court of Auditors gives “green light” to Cultural and Innovation Center of Bordeira

Work will cost 1,4 million euros

The Court of Auditors granted a favorable approval to the contract for the construction of the Cultural and Innovation Center of Bordeira, in the parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe. This contract, whose award was approved by the Chamber of Faro on September 8, it will cost around 1,4 million euros and has an execution period of 540 days.

In a note sent to the newsrooms, the Chamber of Faro explains that «the construction of this infrastructure was awarded to competitor Martins Gago & Filhos, Lda, and foresees the implementation of a cultural and recreational building – which includes a Stone Museum and the Accordion Museum – in order to promote and publicize the identity of this village, through artistic manifestations in the context of music, theater and stonework».

 

 

In the outer space, there will be a space for a bar, a terrace, and an area for the exhibition of larger stonework.

The Chamber of Faro recalls that the financing of this work is guaranteed through a medium and long-term loan, of around 4,8 million euros, approved and with a favorable approval from the Court of Auditors on 30 October 2019, «payable, on favorable terms , within 12 years'.

In addition to this project, this loan will finance «a set of crucial interventions for the development of the territory and for the improvement of the quality of life of the people of the state, namely the Official Animal Collection Center (work already awarded and in progress), the first phase the future 3rd Circular (from Avenida 25 de Abril to Estrada da Penha), the requalification of the centenary Alameda João de Deus (already in progress) and the redevelopment of Mata do Liceu (whose assignment of the works also awaits a favorable approval from the Court of Auditors , as it is a contract with a value of more than 950 thousand euros)».
