República 14 welcomes Grafonola Voadora and Napoleão Mira

The concert is a permanent dialogue between image, music and word – spoken and sung – that transports us through an affective and symbolic geography

The project “Grafonola Voadora & Napoleão Mira” presents, in concert, its debut album “Lugar None” this Friday, December 4th, at 19 pm and 00 pm, in República 20, in Olhão.

The concert is a permanent dialogue between image, music and word – spoken and sung – that transports us through an affective and symbolic geography.

They are «audiovisual paintings of human commonplaces, urban, rural and maritime musical and visual environments linked to the material and intangible heritage of all of us, in a journey that follows the paths of the ethnomusicologist Michel Giacometti, drinking in the roots and traditions of Alentejo and Algarve (namely the Serra do Caldeirão and the Festa da Mãe Soberana) through traditional and original compositions».

With texts by Napoleão Mira, “Lugar None” also includes a text by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andersen and another by the writer Vítor Encarnação and features the voice and instrumental execution of Luís Galrito and the editing and video operation of João Espada.

In order to comply with DGS security measures, the capacity of the hall in República 14 was greatly reduced, so the concert takes place in two times – at 19:00 pm and at 20:00 pm, with the audience having to choose one of them and make their appointment via email [email protected].

This timetable also allows those who travel from other municipalities to return home in time for the curfew.
