Rui Jorge calls on two Algarvians for U21 playoffs in Portimão and Lagoa

The national under-21 coach announced this Friday, November 5th, the call for the triple journey in the Algarve

The Algarve's João Virgínia (goalkeeper) and Gonçalo Ramos (forward) are part of the 23-player squad called by Rui Jorge for the three decisive games for the European Under21 qualification, which will be played from 12 to 18 November, in Portimão and Lagoa. 

The under-21 national selector announced this Friday, November 5th, the call for the triple journey in the Algarve.

The Estádio Municipal de Portimão will be the venue for the match against Belarus (12 November) and also for the match on the last round, against the Netherlands (18 November).

The game against Cyprus, on the 15th of November, will take place at the Municipal Stadium of Bela Vista (Parchal, Lagoa).

In the goalkeepers, in addition to the Algarve João Virgínia (Everton), Diogo Costa (FC Porto) and Luís Maximiano (Sporting) were also called.

Diogo Leite (FC Porto), Diogo Queirós (Famalicão), Diogo Dalot (Man. United), Nuno Mendes (Sporting), Pedro Pereira (Crotone), Thierry Correia (Valencia), Tiago Djaló (Lille), Tomás Tavares (Alavés) are the summoned defenses.

The midfielders chosen for these matches are Daniel Bragança (Sporting), Fábio Vieira (FC Porto), Florentino (Monaco), Gedson (Tottenham), João Mário (FC Porto), Pedro Gonçalves (Sporting) and Vítor Ferreira (Wolves).

Finally, forwards Dany Mota (Monza), Gonçalo Ramos (Benfica), Jota (Valladolid), Joelson Fernandes (Sporting) and Rafael Leão (AC Milan) complete the squad.

The Quinas team occupies the second position in its group, with the first classified and the five best second among all groups qualifying for the final stage of the European Under-21.
