Faro advances towards the construction of the Cultural and Innovation Center of Bordeira

Work will cost around 1,5 million euros

On Friday, the contract for the construction of the Cultural and Innovation Center of Bordeira, in the parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe, in Faro.

The intervention, which will be in charge of the company Martins Gago & Filhos, will cost around 1,5 million and has an execution period of 540 days.

The contract signed on the 16th provides for "the construction of a cultural and recreational building - which includes a Stone Museum and the Accordion Museum - with the aim of promoting and publicizing the identity of this location", according to the Chamber of Faro.

The work will begin as soon as the Court of Auditors gives the green light to the investment that the Chamber of Faro intend to do.

The money for this and other works was guaranteed through a loan of 4,8 million euros taken out by the Chamber of Faro in October 2019, "payable, on favorable terms, within 12 years".

«In addition to the Cultural and Innovation Center of Bordeira, the funding is intended to implement a set of crucial interventions for the development of the municipality's territory, namely the Official Animal Collection Center (awarded, pending approval from the Court of Auditors), the first phase of the future 3rd Circular, from Avenida 25 de Abril to Estrada da Penha, the requalification of Alameda João de Deus and Mata do Liceu (also already awarded, the latter awaiting approval from the Court of Auditors)», said the Faro local authority.
