Roberto Alberto continues to lead Esperança de Lagos

This will be Roberto Alberto's fourth consecutive season as Esperança coach

Roberto Alberto will continue to be the coach of Esperança de Lagos, after having renewed with the Algarvian emblem, which competes in the Portuguese Football Championship, for another year.

This will be the fourth consecutive season for Roberto Alberto at the helm of Esperança de Lagos, a "remarkable factor", says the club, in a press release.

It was under the command of the 33-year-old coach, born in Portimão, that Esperança de Lagos was crowned district champion in the Algarve, in 2018/2019, moving up to the Portuguese Championship.

This season (2019/2020) was in 11th place, with 28 points conquered, in series D of the Portuguese Championship, when the races were canceled due to Covid-19.

The technical team will be the same next season, with Vilson Alves, 30, and Miguel Ferreira, 29, as assistants. As a goalkeeper coach, Nuno Ricardo remains 40 years old.

This is, according to the Lacobrigense club, a bet “on the stability that is intended for the club”.

«The proposed objectives for the next season, and given the reformulation of the competitive framework carried out by the FPF, will be to cement the club in national championships, to play attractive football, to foster young players – including juniors, with the focus on fighting for the top 5 places,” concludes Esperança.
