A symbolic trousseau, made up of three pieces, are the “Mimos d'Avós” that seniors from the Lifelong Education Centers in Silves are giving to the municipality's newborns, as gifts to welcome them into the world.
This project recently launched by the municipality, in partnership with the education poles, aims to "bring two different generations together, in this desire that unites us all: to believe that a new life is a promise of a better and happier future", illustrated Rosa Palma , mayor of Silves.
These gifts, "made with the love and affection that only grandparents are capable of, are our way of wishing the child and the whole family all the best," added the mayor Silvense.
“In order to benefit from this symbolic offer, the procedure is quite simple. When registering the new family member, the parents will receive a card that they must hand in at the Education sector of the Municipality of Silves, located at Rua João de Deus, nº 16 (next to the Parish Council of Silves). for this purpose, contact the respective service in advance by calling 282 440 815 (within the opening period from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm)», explained the City Council of Silves.
