Marcelo sends a message of "friendship and gratitude" to the SCM of Boliqueime

President of the Republic spoke with the institution's ombudsman, who is recovering from the difficult situation he experienced due to Covid-19

The President of the Republic sent his “solidarity, friendship and gratitude” to the users and employees of Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Boliqueime, during a video call he had with Sílvia Sebastião, provider of the institution, to whom he also left a personal message of encouragement.

In a video released by the SCM of Boliqueime, an institution where four dozen cases of Covid-19 were detected, with the disease causing three deaths, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa left three words for “those who give life to an institution like the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Boliqueime».

To users, the Head of State sent "a word of solidarity and support from a distance". Employees have already received “very, very, very profound thanks” for their courage and mission spirit.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also made a point of leaving a very personal message to the provider Sílvia Sebastião, who, «especially from a distance, continues to vibrate», bearing in mind that she is herself infected with the new coronavirus.

"If all goes well, another negative test will arrive, which is essential for her to be free and stop following you at a distance and start being close to you", said the President, who proved to be well aware of what is happening. in Boliqueime – “luckily she has a husband who is a major in the GNR and is negative, he resists everything. The children are holding out there».

“To everyone, my solidarity, my friendship and my gratitude. And as soon as I can, I await an invitation from you, to go to Boliqueime», concluded Marcelo rebelo de Sousa.

The message was recorded during a video call from the President of the Republic to Sílvia Sebastião and not even some technical problems prevented the provider from hearing the message – although, at a certain point, the image, on both sides, was frozen.

«In recording did not stop. It stopped there, it stopped here, but we are together», joked the President of the Republic.

Sílvia Sebastião thanked the gesture and took the opportunity to invite Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to visit the institution.
