Festival I am Quarteira canceled

Dino D'Santiago, Inês Oliveira, Miguel Jacinto and Naomi Guerreiro are the four drivers of this event from Quarteira

O Festival I am Quarteira, which has Dino D'Santiago as one of the mentors, and which was scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of August, was canceled due to Covid-19.

Dino D'Santiago, Inês Oliveira, Miguel Jacinto and Naomi Guerreiro, the four promoters of this event from Quarteira, consider that, since it is an initiative that concentrates a very public, in the middle of the peak of tourism in the Algarve, «the spread of Covid-19 could be a reality, constituting a threat to public health».

What would be the third edition of the Sou Quarteira Festival, to be held at Passeio das Dunas, is thus scheduled for the summer of 2021.

With a program centered on urban sounds, with styles ranging from hip-hop to afro, this festival invites all age groups to meet new talent and see live national and international artists.

In the first two editions, artists such as Carlão, Branko, Eva Rap Diva, Jimmy P, Mayra Andrade, Mundo Segundo & Sam The Kid or Plutonio took part on the stage of Sou Quarteira.

Alongside the festival, the Sou Quarteira Movement integrates other initiatives such as exhibitions, book launches or documentaries, in a comprehensive action that has the support of the Loulé City Council.

This is an initiative whose main objective is to "affirm the identity of Quarteira in its geographical, cultural, social and economic globality, seeking to show the diversity of cultural and social experiences that value the city, in addition to the beach and hotel tourism industry" .
