The Municipality of Portimão will no longer charge for surface parking, which is its responsibility and decided to reduce the maximum capacity in the urban transport service Vai e Vem, due to Covid-19.

In the wake of the crisis caused by the new coronavirus, the municipality «deliberated a set of measures in the area of ​​mobility, both with regard to the urban network of Vai e Vem, as well as on surface-rate parking in the area under municipal responsibility».

With regard to parking meters, all those managed by the municipality will be deactivated. The places in question are: Avenida São João de Deus, Rua Projetada to Rua Mouzinho de Albuquerque; Rua Mouzinho de Albuquerque; France Borges Street; Rua Diogo Gonçalves; Rua da Hortinha; France Borges Street; Olivença Tray; Rua Vicente Vaz das Vacas; and Largo do Dique.
