General Directorate of Health confirms Covid-19 case in Portimão

In the country's total there are 30 confirmed cases

The Directorate-General of Health has just published its Situation Report, confirming the 1st case of Covid-19 in the Algarve, like the Sul Informação reported this afternoon firsthand.

According to the DGS bulletin, in the country's total there are 30 confirmed cases, of which 1 in the Algarve, 22 in the North, 6 in the Lisbon region, and 1 in the Center/Coimbra region.

 

There are still 281 suspected cases, 56 of which are awaiting the results of laboratory analyses. There are also 447 “contacts under surveillance by the Health Authorities”.

The DGS adds that 5 cases were imported from Italy, 1 from Spain, while the others result from “four active transmission chains”, that is, there were four patients who infected other people in Portugal.

The 30 cases are divided into 18 men and 12 women. The presence of the new coronavirus in male patients is spread across all ages, between 10 and 69 years, with a higher prevalence in the 40-49 age group. This level also has more female patients, four. There are no situations of sick women between 50 and 59 years old, but there are two infections between 70 and 79 years old.
